I have facilitated several Contextual Enquiry studios for Foundation Studies programme in the four year UG programme where learners work within a context provided by the facilitator and make a book, film, or another artefact. The research component of the studio helps them develop their cognitive abilities, while the making process helps them develop skills. I have always chosen local contexts – The world of Kannada – the language of our state Karnataka, Finding multiple worlds that exist even in neighbourhoods, And even making India centric science fiction.
